A Day of Vintage Fun
Last weekend we decided to do something a little bit different and trekked down to the Clwyd Veteran & Vintage Machinery Society rally. Yes, I know that it’s a bit of a mouthful, but in short it was a fabulous show of all things mechanical and vintage. Cars, motorcycles, cycles, camper vans, tractors, LandRover’s, military vehicles…basically if it has an engine or is mechanical in nature, it was there. Needless to say, Henry and hubby had a great time.
Not only were we able to view the vehicles and machinery throughout the ground but we were also able to watch them in motion around the ring. In addition to this, there were crafts, trade and bric-a-brac stands to explore.
WHAT HE LOVED
Without a doubt it was the tractors and cars. He had the best time looking at them all and watching them drive around the ring. The boy is so much like his Daddy in the way that if it has an engine, he loves it. I see a lot of motor sport in my future when he gets a little older.
WHAT SHE LOVED
The horses! She has been bonkers about horses for a little while now and so we were very excited to see that they had a few little pony’s there and available for rides. She was so excited to meet Princess – the pony she chose to ride – and take a little turn in the field on her. They also got to groom her a little and basically get up close to them. It may not have looked it, but she was in her element.
WHAT WE LOVED
To be honest, just how happy the kids were as there was so much to them to do. They loved seeing all the vehicles, wandering around the craft section and seeing all the little model scenes, getting a balloon animal from the children’s entertainer. There was plenty to keep them entertained with no tantrums for the 4 hours we were there. In fact, the only reason we left when we did was that the rain arrived.
This is definitely one for the diary next year if – like me – you have members of your family that love anything with an engine!
