Banish Dirt with the Shark Steam Pocket Mop

When we think of our home and how we want it to look, that includes hardwood flooring in the living room and beautiful tiles throughout the kitchen and dining room. Unfortunately right now, with two little people it’s more bump proof with carpets throughout except for in the kitchen and in the conservatory. That means cleaning that area is currently different to the rest of the house and usually involves me on hands and knees with floor wipes. Not only is this labour intensive, but it’s not an environmentally sustainable option. So, enter the steam mop. More specifically, the Shark Steam Pocket Mop.

SHARK STEAM POCKET MOP – WHAT YOU GET 

Included in the box is the steam pocket mop, the klik n’ flip mop head, 2x dirt grip pads and a filling flask. I loved that you get 2 pads in the box as standard as often you don’t get a spare. I also thought the filling flask was a nice touch as it made filling our Shark Steam Pocket Mop so easy.

The mop came together in a few simple clicks which were clearly marked so it would be difficult to put it together wrong. Before we knew it, we were fully assembled and ready to steam!

SHARK STEAM POCKET MOP – HOW IT WORKED

First of all, it heated up so quickly. As in less than a minute, and I had plenty of time to clean both floors on a single tank. Looking at other write ups I can see that a single tank with the Shark Steam Pocket Mop lasts 15 minutes. I’ve not needed to use it for that long yet for 2 rooms, but it means that it will last us plenty of time when the house is update and has hard flooring throughout. It also has a fabulous steam blast function which allows you to attack any stubborn spots with a blast of direct steam. This softens any stains ready for you to simply wipe away.

I loved the klik n’ flip technology of the mop. Basically, this is a mop head that you literally click in and can flip around at a twist. This gives double the cleaning area at just a flip of the mop head. The dirt grip pads are so easy to take off and change for cleaning. Simply open using the button on the mop, slip into the mop pad, then click shut on both sides and you’re ready to go.

Finally, the Shark Lift Away Steam Mop comes with a 2-year manufacturer warranty. This is great for peace of mind. As a consumer it makes me feel protected for that little bit longer, and makes me feel that the manufacturer has real confidence in their product.

This is the first time I have ever used a steam mop and I was worried about how wet the floor would get. With two little people who I have no doubt will be running on any newly cleaned floors the second I am finished, I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t be spending time drying the floors once I was done. I needn’t have worried though, as the mop did not soak the floor and the mop head did a great job of soaking up any excess water.

I love that steam cleaning is a chemical free option. Although there are plenty of added cleaning products you can buy to go with your steam cleaner, for us the power of steam alone is enough to lift the stains of our daily lives.

Finally, I am impressed with how easy it is to store. We don’t have a huge amount of space in our home and I was concerned about where to keep it. However, because the mop head lays flat when lifted, it stores easy lifted off the floor and hooked on the back of a door.

Overall, I love this mop and I am completely converted to steam when it comes to cleaning. Fast, easy and chemical free. What more can you ask for when it comes to cleaning?! What’s even better, is the fact that it is currently on offer at AO.com, with £40 off the RRP.
