With rising costs of travel, it can be very tempting to forgo travel insurance.
The problem is, what if the worst happens and you need it? Here are 3 reasons why you need to make sure that travel insurance – especially international health insurance – is one of your priorities when booking your next holiday.

BECAUSE IT COULD SAVE YOU MONEY
What if the worse really did happen? Sadly, accidents happen all the time, and all over the world. The last thing you need to be thinking of if something does happen while overseas, is money. There will be more important things to worry about that that time than how you will ever be able to pay off expensive medical bills.
There are a huge variety of insurance options out there to suit all lifestyles, holiday types and timescales. Also – most importantly – all budgets. Overseas medical bills can be expensive. Very expensive. So, would it really be worth the risk?
BECAUSE YOU SOMETIMES NEED A BACK UP PLAN
It’s not just about medical emergencies. In fact, sometimes it’s not about an emergency at all. Sometimes you just need a backup plan. Especially when travelling with kids.
Maybe they come down with chicken pox 2 days before you are due to fly, maybe they break a leg, maybe one of the 10,000 things that can happen at the last minute when you have kids comes up and you can’t make your flight. It could be kids; it could be the weather or it could be strikes. Whatever the reason, sometimes you need a backup plan.
This is where insurance is invaluable as it means that should something happen that is out of your control, you don’t need to lose everything. As let’s face it, most people can’t afford to just lose the cost of a holiday.

BECAUSE IT WILL GIVE YOU PEACE OF MIND
Finally, it may be a little bit of an upfront cost but the peace of mind that it can give you is invaluable. It can be something small such as losing your bag or having your wallet stolen. The fact is though that you don’t want minor mishaps to ruin your trip.
And if the worst does happen? Well, that’s exactly what travel insurance is there for.
At the end of the day, you are important and therefore you need to ensure that you have protection. There are many ways that you can save money on holiday, but just make sure that cutting out your travel insurance isn’t one of them.
