Positive Mindset When Trying to Get Pregnant
This is a collaborative guest post. Thank you for supporting the posts that make this blog possible.
In the early stages of talking about trying for a family, it can feel a bit overwhelming. It is a big deal to add people into the world, and certainly people that you will be taking care of. Eventually, those conversations get more serious, and before you know it, the trying starts.
Over time the two weeks wait or waiting for the perfect donor can be difficult and upsetting. When you are waiting for the egg freezing process to start or have your fingers crossed over your ovulation station in the bathroom, there are few things that you can do to stay positive.

This isn’t about smiling like a Cheshire cat all day. It is about doing positive things in your life that can have you feeling great in general.
Stroll
Oh yes. Going for a walk. It is one of the best things you can do in almost all situations, and yet, it is still thought of as boring or said for face value. The truth is though when we are walking, our brains have time to wind down.
Getting yourself out of the house, even just for ten minutes, can change your perspective on things really quickly. Not only that, but it is good for you too. And you should be aiming to do things that are of benefit for you in all ways possible.
Cook
Hate cooking? Well, think about all of the nutritious meals that you really should be consuming right now. A pregnant person needs a certain amount of vitamins and minerals every day, and the better you can cook, the more nourished you’ll be. Cooking can take as much or as little time as you like.
This means if you need to take your mind off the situation for a while, you can make sourdough, but if you just need something delicious and quick, then noodle.
Talk
Talking is therapy in its own way. You might want to talk to people in the same situation. You can find many forums and groups online. Facebook, Twitter, plus Instagram are all great places to start. Trying to get pregnant or waiting to adopt – whatever the situation, can be frustrating and can take time. When you find people to talk to, you will feel a little bit less alone.
Write
Writing is cathartic, and sometimes you might not want to say how you feel, but writing it down is easier for you. Writing a journal or even starting a blog can help you find people who relate to your situation.
Not only that, though, but it can also help you process what you are going through and how you feel.
Create spaces for you to deflate a little bit and lean into your feelings. It is healthy to let yourself feel and to process those things fully. Learning new skills and taking care of yourself will mean that when it does happen, and you have your new human to take care of, you will be even more ready for them.
