Plenty of sunshine, a lake and a lot of fun – Little Loves 23/52 | 2021
This is a format I used to love contributing to each week back when I first started blogging. Recently I’ve been looking back on those old posts and thought it would be a great way to get back into the rhythm of posting each week while capturing some of the little moments of our life.
While I won’t be going back to that prescribed format, I will be sharing a handful of things that I have loved each week. Starting with….
TIME SPENT WITH FAMILY
We had two back garden meet ups with family this week and it was so lovely. My sister in law and her family made their way up from London for the bank holiday weekend and we managed a few hours together on Monday.
It was the first time we’ve seen them in person since Christmas 2019 and it was just so lovely. It’s these little things that we have missed the most and it’s so wonderful to have a glimmer of things to come.
A WEEKEND AWAY WITH FRIENDS
Our little old bird caravan has been amazing already this year and we’re loving getting away in her as much as possible. This weekend we found ourselves on the shore of Lake Bala for a weekend that included a trip out on a train, time out in the boat and plenty of glorious sunshine.
Needless to say, it was a bloody brilliant weekend with some bloody brilliant friends.
GETTING LOST IN A GOOD BOOK
One of my jobs is term time only. This means that because it’s been half term, I have had a few free evenings this week. I’ve made good use of them by getting lost in a good book or two. Off my bookshelf this week has been Born Of Ice by Sherrilyn Kenyon (an old trusted series I pick back up from time to time) and The Stepsisters by Susan Mallery. The former was an old comfort blanket that I enjoyed picking up again, and the latter was brilliant. Mallery did it again with such a great read.
I’ll be taking a closer look at both these books at the end of the month in my What I Read monthly post, but just being able to pick up and enjoy a good book this week has been a simple pleasure.
DAYS OUT WITH FRIENDS
This week we popped down the M54 and meet the fabulous Lucy from Real Mum Reviews at Moseley Old Hall. It’s a small NT property that is cute, and a lot of fun to explore. With some sweet gardens, a lovely woodland and meadow as well as an absolutely brilliant tree house which is prefect for kids.
What was especially lovely though was meeting up with a friend. Watching the kids meet and explore somewhere new while we just had time having a good catch up. .
And there we have it, my first little summary of what I loved over the past week. I hope that whatever you managed to do with your half term, it’s been a great one.
