The Big Summer Getaway with Jet2 | AD
As seven countries turn green, there is little doubt that the world is starting to open up and the travel industry is taking its first tentative steps to recovery. That’s why Jet2 sent me a rather fantastic hamper to get us in the mood for their Big Summer Getaway.
I won’t lie, my eyes lit up at the sight of cocktails and a good book!
The good news for the travel industry is that as more and more people get vaccinated, they are starting to feel more comfortable travelling again. Perhaps not to the level they were before, but little by little you can see things are starting to head in the right direction.
If people do feel comfortable heading overseas then the good news is that there are an amazing amount of deals that are available to you right now. And although Jet2 are talking about their big summer getaway, I personally think that September is a great time to book a little time away if your school holidays allow and if you feel comfortable doing so. The days are still warm but everything starts to get a little quieter, perfect for some summer beach relaxing.
Our closest Jet2 base is Manchester which is great news for us as it’s in an easy location and really accessible. So whether you’re looking for cheap flights (or in my case a city break – how I miss them!) there are some real bargains to be had at the moment.
I won’t lie, for us we’re not quite ready yet. Instead we’ve been taking advantage of some great camping sites in our little old caravan. That being said I know that we are not all the same, and there are some people who have been desperate to head overseas again.
For me it hasn’t helped that I’ve not been 100% clear on what we can and can’t do and which countries are on what list. which is why I found this summary page on the Jet2 site so helpful. It has been put into place to nform customers about new travel requirements, which destinations are in Green, Amber and Red and what new deals they have on offer. Basically a great place to start when considering a booking!
What have you been up to this summer? Have you ventured overseas yet or stayed on UK soil?
