Is your child starting to not enjoy school? There may be some telltale signs that your child is really unhappy each week. Here are 5 signs to look out for from this nursery in Richmond.

1. Your child shows no real interest in learning
A big thing is the willingness to learn at all. If your child is struggling with their studies, and that’s the main cause behind their change in school, then it can easily change their attitude each morning. A slump in studies, not interested in doing their homework, or a refusal to go to school are reasons to raise alarm bells in your head.
2. Your child’s appetite has changed
Regardless of whether you’re worried about something happening at school or in friendships your appetite can change when you’re upset. Your child may have shown a sudden change in their eating habits, which is when you should ask them how they’re handling things and what you can do to help.
3. They’re falling behind on their studies
If your child has been receiving glowing reviews in their work, for them to be squashed by a recent bout of poor reviews, then there’s something happening that’s causing your child upset. Talk to teachers about what you can do to help support your child.
4. Poor behaviour
A child that’s not happy in school is more likely to find something else they can do in their time, like misbehaving in class or causing problems for teachers. Get to the route of the problem, fast, and offer compromises to keep your child focused on what really matters.
5. They refuse to go to school
In extreme cases your child may just stop wanting to go to school altogether. This is when serious intervention is needed as it can land you in hot water as well. Have conversations with staff and the head teacher to work on an action plan with your child.
