Work with them on their homework
Getting used to what they’re learning in school is going to really help you and your child learn a lot more about what they need to do to pick up their knowledge. Sit with them and see where you can help without delving too much into their studies – they should be able to feel in control and help them where they can. If you take too much control of their work then they won’t be able to pick up skills.
Use your child’s school for advice
Your child’s teachers are going to be a great resource when it comes to attaining the best goals for each student. It also makes your child have a clear focus on what they’re going to work on each week if they use their teachers’ advice. There’s also a lot of help found through specific clubs and tutoring opportunities through school. This UK Independent School has a series of clubs and groups to help students get through their studies ready for their exams.
Get your child into the habit of revising each week
Having a clear schedule is going to help your child a lot more with where they need to put their focus. If they have free time to work on each subject individually then there’s a lot more your child can pick up, and do better when it comes to the day they start their exams. Use a quiet space with little to no distractions to help them learn to focus. Lean into how they prefer to learn and how it will make them be better prepared for some of the biggest exams they will take.
