Set up the right study space for your child to work in
What will be key to your child’s progress is where they work on their revision. If they are working in an environment where distractions are going to be a huge part of their studying time, they won’t be able to absorb all the information they need for their upcoming exams. Remove all distractions in these cases and ensure they don’t feel tempted to use this time working on something else.
Plan out a timetable of studies together
Working together to see when would be the best time to be studying each day can help your child plan ahead. This will be especially important when your child knows exactly when your child will be taking their exams. Ideally your child should be working towards revision for exams that are when they are in their calendar. For example, if their History exam is first up, they should look at their revision for that at the start of their revision and again at the end.

Gather a range of studying material
And of course your child will need as much support as they can get from the material they need to be picking up each week. It can be easy to get siloed into particular areas and forget the main reason why these exams are important in the first place.
To help with that, you can get some new study books that cater to what your child is learning about for each exam. They don’t have to necessarily be studying books related to the curriculum. For example, a book on the history of World War II will still be beneficial to a child if they need another perspective to consider. It will help to open up their mind.
Exam revision can be tough, but it shouldn’t always feel that way. Help your child with their growth by offering new ways to take on their studies. Ensure they are happy, and make them feel like they can take on whatever comes up on exam day with these tips.
