The rollercoaster of toddler life
Today has been an amazing day and one that perfectly outlines what life with a toddler is really like. We have :
- Been to a baby and toddler group
- Played with friends
- Had a lovely sleep (the toddler not me)
- Met with good friends
- Gone for a walk through some gorgeous local woods
- Played with said friends full of giggles
- Had chips – what kid doesn’t love chips?!
- Had lots of cuddles and giggles
However we have also:
- Woke up in a grump
- Got into a cry off with another 2 year old over a toy donkey (Darcie won)
- Attempted to steal a dolly – from church no less
- Wake up in a grump (again) and proceed to have a 35 minute screaming tantrum promoting mummy to call daddy in an attempt to stop her losing her shit
- Cry in fear that she was being abducted when aforementioned friend attempted to move my car with her still in it
- Cry when the dog jumped up at her
- Cry when the dog wouldn’t go away
- Cry when mummy then suggested we leave the dog and go home
- Cry when mummy wouldn’t carry her when she already had Henry in a sling (are you seeing a pattern yet?)
The truth is that raising a toddler IS like living on a rollercoaster where the day is dictated by the moods of a volatile pint sized pack of dynamite. The lows are lower than you could ever imagine but the highs are also better then you could ever dream they’d be.
