AD | book tour – I really loved the sound of The Fast Lane by Sharon M Peterson when I read the blurb: love and adventure on a road trip…what’s not to love?! So, when the opportunity came up to hop on the blog tour, I enthusiastically said yes! Here’s what I thought.

I should have known my mom would go totally overboard packing for my brother’s big day. But much like my last break-up, I’d been optimistic (in denial) that it would all work out for me. Now, I can’t fit into the car. “Don’t worry,” my brother says, “I asked Theo to give you a ride.”

He’s the last person I want to be alone with on a six-day road trip; especially since I swore off men after my last relationship went up in flames. It would be a terrible idea anyway; he only sees me as his best friend’s little sister.

But as we fight over the playlist and are forced to share a night together when his car dies, it’s not distance that makes my heart grow fonder, it’s close proximity. Two thousand miles of flirting has my heart racing in the fast lane. Is it all in my head, or does Theo feel the same?

WHAT I THOUGHT ABOUT THE FAST LANE

I love love LOVED this book. I adored Theo as a character and Ali was just fabulous. I loved her faults and crazy personality and connected with her massively as a character. Her personality was so much fun and her pranks were brilliant. I’d love her to be my best friend!

The family dynamics were complicated but handled very well and I love that everyone has their own flaws. I struggled with how overbearing Ali’s mum was at times, but overall the side characters were brilliant. Adding to the story but still had just enough depth to be their own people. I thought the setting of a road trip with a few entertaining stops along the way was just brilliant. THIS is exactly what I want in a friends to lovers romance and I loved every page.

If you’re looking for a great summer read that you can’t put down packed full of drama and some great characters then you will love The Fast Lane. I can’t wait to go back and read her other books. If they’re anything like the one then I am in for a treat!
