The Summer Reunion by Leah Mercer
AD | book tour – a summer themed thriller? Yes please! The Summer Reunion by Leah Mercer is described as gripping and it is certainly that. Here’s what I thought when I took a sneak peek a few weeks ago.
THE BLURB
Six friends on holiday. A secret worth dying for.
In a gorgeous French stone villa, a group of friends reunite for a weekend of reminiscing and laughter. But as glasses of wine are poured, they find they aren’t alone.
Standing at the door is a man the friends thought they’d never see again. With a ferocious storm raging and roads closed, they have no choice but to let him in. Instantly the dream weekend takes a dark turn.
Because someone invited him here.
Because someone has been living a lie.
And someone wants revenge.
But when the truth is revealed, will anyone make it out alive?
WHAT I THOUGHT ABOUT THE SUMMER REUNION
Wow, to say this friendship group is filled with drama is a bit of an understatement! Six friends meet back up on – what is supposed to be – a lovely 20th reunion vacation. However, it turns out that it will be a vacation to remember for all the wrong reasons. There are so many layers of secrets in The Summer Reunion that you soon realise that pretty much everyone has something to hide.
The drawback is that I can’t say I particularly liked any of the characters. All were self obsessed and only really cared about themselves, how things looked, or how things impacted them. That being said there was certainly enough drama and action happening to keep you turning page after page to discover what happened next.
The pace was a little slow but intense and there was so much going on that is builds and builds and builds, keeping you gripped until its explosive conclusion.
The Summer Reunion was released on 6th September and is available on Amazon for just £1.99 for the kindle edition.
