Make your own snowman cards
These photo’s have been hiding in my laptop for the last few years and when I came across them this year, I thought it was time to share Henry’s tiny baby feet!
We’ve always made our own Christmas cards as not only is it a wonderful way to get creative at Christmas, but it also is a great way for tracking little ones as they grown. A few years ago we made these handmade snowman cards and here’s how you can make your own.
WHAT YOU NEED
In addition to an A5 card and envelope you will need the following to create your snowman cards.
Step one: blue craft paper | white poster paint | paint brust | little feet
Step two: scissors | double sided sticky tape | scrap black & brown paper | black and orange pens
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
Step one: first up you need some little feet! Paint the soles of your baby / toddlers feet using the white poster paint. Make sure the paint you use is water based if you have any desire of washing it off again.
Press little feet down firmly on your blue craft paper.
I used a 1 x baby foot and 1 x toddler feet to do ours so both kids were included and we also did enough copies for all grandparents!
Leave to dry.
Step two: once dry you need to cut around your foot / feet and stick them onto your A5 card with double sided sticky tape.
From here you’re doing to add on a hat shape using your scrap black card as well as a pair of stick arms onto each snowman using the brown scrap card. Don’t worry about getting too etailed, basic simple shapes will work best.
From there you are going to add on a little orange carrot nose as well as two black eyes and three back buttons using your orange and black marker pens.
And there you have it! A set of handmade snowman cards which I can gurantee that grandparents will love recieving.
They may seem complicated but they are actually incredibly simple to do and very effective. A few years on, we still have ours and they’re wonderful to look back on to see just how these little feet have grown.
