Pony Bead Pumpkins – Halloween Children’s Craft
If you have a little time this weekend, then these Beaded Pumpkins are a quick and easy Halloween children’s craft. Great for little hands to practice hand eye coordination and good for KS2 kids too who would be able to follow all the instructions themselves.
WHAT YOU NEED
These really couldn’t be easier as all you need are 5 pipe cleaners and plenty of pony beads. We went with an orange only version and a multi-colour rainbow pumpkin.
HOW TO MAKE YOUR PONY BEAD PUMPKIN
Take two pipe cleaners and hold them across each other, folding over to secure. Place another 2 pipe cleaners evenly in the spaces and fold to secure. You should now have 8 ‘legs’ in your pumpkin, secured together in the middle.
Next thread pony beads onto each pipe cleaner. The Bear chose orange whereas the boy went creative with a multi-colours pumpkin!
Stop when you are around 3cm from the top. Repeat around all pipe cleaners.
Once done, twist at the top to secure.
You now have the main body of your pumpkin. Shape out the sides into a pumpkin shape keeping your twisted top upright. Next, you’re going to twist a green pipe cleaner around the twisted top to give it a green stem. Wind the ends around a pencil to give it a lovely pumpkin vine finish.
And there we have it. Your very own pony bead pumpkins.
These really are such a quick and easy, mess free make. Perfect for filling a little bit of time this weekend. Why not raid your craft stash and give it a go? I’d love to see your finished pumpkins so be sure to tag me over at: www.instagram.com/tippytupps
