This Mama Loves….January
I’m making a few changes on the blog this year, stripping it back from what I think people want to read and instead concentrating on what I want to write. This was always meant to be a space for me to simply write and create a scrapbook of our lives. That means that things are going to getting a lot more personal up in here!
Part of that will be my attempt to have a little look back on the little things we loved each month. Yes, I know it’s already February so yes, I know I am already late. I didn’t say everything was going to change at once!
NEW YEAR WALKS
We started the year well and headed out on some New Year’s Day adventures with friends. This has become a bit of an annual tradition now and one that I hope we will continue for years to come.
I’m lucky to have some amazing friends in my life though getting us all together in one place is pretty hard, especially as the kids have better social lives than us these days!
BIDDULPH GARDENS
Biddulph Gardens was an absolute gem of a find last month. A National Trust property in Staffordshire. It was quirky and just so much fun. The kids and I – along with the friends we met there – had an amazing time exploring the random little corners hidden away in this spectacular garden. There is no doubt that we will be back again.
PISTYLL RHAEADR
Yes I know….easy for me to say! We headed back up to Pistyll Rhaeadr to let the kids explore. I had forgotten what a tiny little road it is to get there but it was such a wonderful place to explore with the kids.
MARSHMALLOW TOASTING AT ERDDIG
Another National Trust property, we spend a lot of time at Erddig. This month we went marshmallow toasting and puddle jumping there which the kids absolutely loved. They even upcycled their Christmas trees into teepees which I think was a fabulous way to give something a second life.
THE ICE CREAM FARM
Sometimes impromptu days out are the best! We bought a play pass to the Cheshire Ice Cream Farm for Christmas 2018 as although we don’t go often, we always enjoy it when we do go. A few hours of playing followed by delicious ice cream? What’s not to love.
A WEEKEND WITH MY TRIBE
The blogging world is a bit of a pandoras box, so I am incredibly lucky to have a tribe of ladies to use as a sounding board. A few weeks ago, a handful of us managed to meet up child free in brummy-land.
It only took me 3 years to meet this many of these lovelies in one place, I just hope it doesn’t take me another 3 years to be able to do it again!
And that’s it. When I sat down to write this post, I thought that it would be a struggle to fill it. However, looking back January was pretty full!! I’m hoping that it’s set the tone for a great 2020 to come.
I hope you have all had a lovely January too!
