AD | gifted – If you follow the blog then you know that we love to get outside and are massive fans of Cotton Traders since we worked with them on getting some colour into our winter wardrobe a few weeks ago. This time we’ve been strapping on our walking boots and heading out on some adventures. More specifically, Cotton Traders HydroGuard^® walking boots. Here’s what we thought.

What is HydroGuard^® ?

In short, HydroGuard^® is a watertight membrane which provides waterproof, breathable properties. To be fair, that’s exactly what you’re looking for when it comes to walking boots! Especially as it means that this unique fabric allows sweat and body moisture to escape while ensuring that water droplets are kept out. This ensures that feet are kept warm and comfortable (and of course DRY) while ensuring that you don’t become sweaty.

Inside the boots there is a lot going on too with lightweight phylon soles with shock absorbing properties. Add that to the ankle collar cushioning and you have a pair of boots that are not only comfortable but offer plenty of support too.

Putting the HydroGuard^® walking boots to the test

As they were new boots, we first wore them around the house a little before heading out on a series of smaller walks. To be fair throughout all of that, they felt incredibly comfortable with no issues with rubbing at all.

I love the simple style to these boots with their two tone finish and tape detailing. Although you don’t necessarily think about fashion when you head out on a walk, it is nice to know that they really will go with anything. I also love that they are unisex boots with no thought to traditional male or female colours. Instead they are just really great boots that are well made and comfortable. Without thought as to whether they are for men or women.

Before you knew it, we were heading up Moel Famau. This was our first longer walk in them and I was so pleased with how they did. We had no issues at all. Super comfortable and classically stylish, they really are a great option. I’m looking forward to walking many more miles in them.
