Keeping Warm with Lapasa

Unless you’re lucky enough to live in warmer climates, you will have noticed that it’s winter and it’s cold! So when the team from Lapasa got in contact to find out if I wanted to test out one of their jackets – the Lapasa Women’s Down Jacket, 550FP Duck Down Filling, Featherweight & Warm, Windproof Winter Puffer Coat For Travel, Hiking, Climbing, Skiing L18 to be exact (easy for me to say) – I thought there wasn’t a better time of year to do it.

LAPASA JACKET – MY THOUGHTS

First of all let me say that this jacket is deceptive, as although it’s very thin and lightweight it’s extremely warm. This is because it’s made from 90% duck down and 10% waterfowl feather. These create great insulation without making it too heavy. This is perfect for someone like me, who rarely wears coats – even in winter – as I hate that heavy restrictive feeling. You just don’t get that with this.

Practically there are two pockets on the outside of the jacket with an additional two inner pockets. I think this would make it a great option if you were travelling. As not only would it be easy to store and carry due to the fact it’s so lightweight and can pack away into such a small space, but these two inner pockets give you a secure location to store things such as your passport or money.

One thing I would say is that the sizing is a little on the small side. Therefore, you need to make sure you order one size up from your usual size to make sure it fits. I didn’t, and the jacket is a little tight for me across my hips and bust. That’s not too much of an issue as I hope to shed a few lbs which means this will hopefully last me into next Autumn and Winter too.

Personally, this is not my usual style therefore it is not something that I would wear day to day. However, what I think it will be perfect for is any outdoor activities such as hiking, boarding or just going to long walks in muddy places in the cold. That’s where this will really come into its own as invariably I ALWAYS get too hot halfway through so this will be great as I’ll be able to take it off and pack it away in my bag until I cool down and need it again.

If you like spending time outdoors or have a trip coming up soon to a cooler climate, then I think this jacket could be a great option for you.
