Keeping the kids entertained with My Little World – giveaway (AD)
If you follow us, then you know that we love crafts. I’ve always loved creating new things and lucky for me, my kids have inherited my love for all things creative. So when My Little World got in contact to invite us to take a closer look at their small world play, I was eager to get involved.
WHO ARE MY LITTLE WORLD?
Designed to spark a child’s imagination. The My Little Worlds are packed full of beautiful illustrations ready for little ones to create and explore. Using the most basic of materials – paper and pencils – the creators Richard and Tim aim to create something which will help children reduce screen time and get back to basics. Fathers themselves, they understand the importance of imaginative play and the power of a child’s imagination.
Each My Little World pack contains 12 A5 cards ready to colour in with the 12 pencils included in the pack. There are also 5 little stands ready for kids to bring their worlds to life.
There are 8 options to choose from meaning there should be a scene to spark the imagination of most children. They include two ‘My Little Scotland’ options – Loch Ness and Edinburgh Castle as well as 6 general options. Airport, Christmas Time, Emergency Services, Fairy Village, Space Station Foxtrot and The Village High Street.
PUTTING MY LITTLE WORLD TO THE TEST
Last week I had that most dreaded of things. A long train journey – 90 minutes long – solo with two kids under 5. This could have easily gone either way but to try and keep them occupied, I packed a few My Little Worlds. I have to say they worked a treat!
Attracted by the beautiful packaging, they dove straight in and spent the entire train journey colouring in their worlds (airport for him and fairy village for her). The only thing that was missing was a pair of scissors to practice their cutting skills, but I didn’t think that was the best idea on public transport so that part of the activity had to wait until we got home.
THE VERDICT
Overall, I love this idea. So simply yet so effective. It kept my two entertained for the duration of the train ride and when they’re happy then I’m happy! I may have event enjoyed a little bit of colouring in myself.
What’s more though, I love that not only are the My Little World packs created, manufactured and printed in the UK but all paper, card and packaging used in the product is recyclable. So, not only is this a wonderful activity for creative children, sparking some imaginative play but it’s also a sustainable option.
