Christmas Gifts that Boys and Girls will Love
Some of these items were gifted for the purposes of this guide, however this is not a sponsored post and the decision to include each item is my own.
It’s the time of year where we are starting to think about Christmas. I’m a little late getting started on gift buying this year but have finally made a start and I wanted to share a few of the things that have made the Christmas list in the hope it gives you a little bit of inspiration for the little people in your lives. All these items are great for boys and girls alike, or in my case, mixed-sex siblings!!
Little Muddy Boots Winter Activity Cards
I absolutely love these cards. They may be small in size, but they pack a punch when it comes to inspiration. Winter can be a hard time when it comes to figuring out how to entertain children during long, dark, cold days. That’s where Little Muddy Boots come in, packed full of seasonal facts and activity ideas specially designed for winter, there are so many ideas contained within its easy wipe pages.
The Little Muddy Boots Winter Activity Cards are a perfect size to slip in your pocket and I can’t wait to get outside on a winter walk and use some of the ideas and discussion points.

Living Nature Animals
“Fur-ever friends are the perfect gift for animal lovers of all ages.” Could that be any cuter? These soft toys are beyond adorable and with a range that covers pets to dinosaurs, the jungle to the woods, I can guarantee that there is a Living Nature animal to suit any child. Or adult for that matter!
I love that Living Nature has made a massive effort to go green as the Naturli leaf tag, this means the stuffing in your new friend is made from recycled plastic. The packaging is all cardboard and doubles as the home for your new pet. Complete with owner’s manual and facts all about your new friend, this is a pet experience and is the closest you can get without having a live animal in your home.

Giddy Up
Christmas in our home is not complete without a new game for us all to play and this year we’ve chosen Giddy Up. With two very active children, this is a great option which is not only a lot of fun but also burns off some energy too!
There are three game options:
- Cross Country – place the command cards around the house, or in the garden and race around the tract completing the commands as you do. Who can complete the course the fastest?
- Challenge – follow the 5 commands that the Giddy Up horse gives you. You must listen carefully as if you do the command wrong, then it’s game over!
- Don’t want to follow commands? Then no problem as in Training mode you can just enjoy Giddy Up as free play.
It’s utterly hilarious watching people as they pat, trot, jump, stop and feed with the Giddy Up horse and I love that this is a game that you can play on your own or together as a family.
Be warned though that the game requires 3x AAA batteries which are not included so be sure to pick some up at the same time.

Screwball Scramble 2
Sometimes the old toys are the best and Screwball Scramble is a nostalgic walk down memory lane for any parents who were born in the 80’s! An update on the original game, Screwball Scramble 2 comes with brand new maze features for players to navigate. Guide your marble through the maze using the buttons, sliders and dials to reach the other side.
I love that this is a toy that works on two levels. Not only is it a lot of fun but it also is great for developing dexterity, cognitive skills and hand eye coordination. Play on your own or compete as a family with fastest player wins. Want to double the fun? Screwball Scramble 2 can lock onto the original TOMY Screwball Scramble game giving players double the maze to navigate.

Active Snap
I love this game. A fun twist on the original, Active Snap works in the same way as normal snap: take turns to lay down your cards, and when two cards in a row match, slap your hand down and shout snap. The quickest person wins. The twist? Well, the winner not only gets the cards, but they also get to sit back, watch and laugh as all the other players have to do whatever is on the cards. Think squats, skipping, hopping on the spot and star jumps to name but a few.
The perfect size for a stocking filler, this is a great ready day game to keep bodies moving and the laughs coming.

Happy Hamsters
This was a must for our Christmas list as the Bear has been obsessed with the thought of this as soon as she saw it advertised. For some reason she has been obsessed with the thought of getting a hamster for over a year now and this is a fabulous alternative to the real thing that won’t be attacked by our cat!
This modular track set allows children to build their own hamster world to keep their little friends happy, day after day. Tired of one design? No problem, simply take it apart and start again as with 75 pieces in the set, there are plenty of options to keep imaginative minds busy.
Watch as your new little pet hamster climbs up the elevator, plays in their wheel, uses their food bowl to escape down a tunnel, or build up their energy with speed boosters to scurry around the track quicker. I know this is going to keep her entertained for hours!

CreArt Paint by Numbers
One of my favourite things about Christmas growing up as a child was not just the chaos but always those quiet moments too. There was always something creative in our gift pile whether it was a new diary, notebook, colouring book or craft set. I used to love getting lost in a creative project (and still do!).
That’s why I love these CreArt sets from Ravensburger. They are the same gorgeous quality you expect from the brand and contain everything you need to make your own masterpiece including:
- a painting canvas complete with outline guides to follow
- acrylic pains in numbered pots
- an easel to hold the pots
- fine point paintbrush
- easy to follow guide sheet
- presentation frame to display your finished masterpiece
Choose from 7+, 9+ or 11+ age options which provides the complexity of the picture and detail required to complete your artwork.

And that’s it !! Hopefully this has given you a little gift inspiration for children in your life. Merry Christmas and happy shopping!!
