What I’m Giving People This Year – A Stocking Filler Gift Guide | AD
This year I’ve decided to do things a little differently for this gift guide. Instead of a long list of random things, I thought I would share a few of the items that people will be getting from us this year and why. If you’re a member of my family or friendship group reading this, proceed with warnings of spoiler alerts!
Hopefully this will give anyone else reading this a little inspiration as you look for some ideas for your own friends and family.
For my other half
Hubby and I don’t spend a lot of each other at Christmas. Our main gifts are the memberships we buy each year – National Trust and the farm this year – so what we do instead is just pull together a few little bits to open.
When I saw Below the Belt Grooming, I thought it was hilarious. Something that will (hopefully!) but useful, but also funny too. As it says on the box, they’re “dedicated to answering an age-old problem: sweaty balls.”
I can’t tell you what it would be like to use for obvious reasons, but I can say it looks and smells good and is a really fun alternative to the standard toiletry gifts.
You can save a 1/3 off their entire range over on their website at the moment. Offer ends 2nd December so go check them out.
For my best friend
One of my best friends has just had the most beautiful baby boy. I can’t imagine how difficult having a newborn in a global pandemic is so they both deserve something lovely this Christmas.
I loved Aveeno products when my two were little and this little Mum and Baby Giftset is beautiful. With a large 300ml bottle of moisturising lotion for mummy and a 300ml bottle of baby hair & body wash alongside a 150ml bottle of baby moisturising Lotion for baby, there is something for them both. There is even an adorable soft teddy comforter to finish off this lovely set.
Can be found in all leading Boots and Ocado stores.
For my brother in law
I won’t lie, I’m not sure this will make it to my brother in law yet as I’m tempted to read it! However, as a politics graduate I know that he would really enjoy the new book by Laurence Rees – Hitler and Stalin: the Tyrants of the Second World War.
Born from 30 years of work, this is a never before seen insight into these two men who – although ruled in very different ways – were responsible for horrific levels of suffering. It promises to be an insightful read.
Hitler & Stalin is available to buy on Amazon now.
For my father in law
My father in law is a joker and loves silly gifts. Basically, anything that makes him smile. So, I couldn’t resist Poo-Pourri as a festive stocking filler. Something that is fun but actually functional and can be used too rather than ending up in the back of a drawer when the festive period ends.
Festively packaged, the Poo-Pourri Secret Santa spray is a blend of cinnamon. vanilla and citrus and holds up to 70 uses.
Now available at Holland & Barrett.
For the girls
I was 12 when Friends first aired and 22 when I sat down with my best friend at 4am after a night in town to watch the final episode. It was our go to show at uni (I’m looking at you Jill if you’re reading this!) and it’s still on of the default shows I go to when I don’t know what else to watch.
Can you imagine how thrilled I was when I found out that Paladone were coming out with an entire range of Friends products?! I’ll be doing a proper post going through a fabulous box of goodies we have been sent in a dedicated review post, but I wanted to mention them here too as I have a host of people in my family and friendship group who also have a special place in their heart for Rachel, Ross, Chandler, Monica, Joey and Phoebe.
You can check out their range over on Amazon now. It all looks fabulous!
Finally, a little treat for myself
I’ve got BIG eyebrows that pre-Covid would be threaded on a regular basis. However, it’s now a different world so alternative methods have to be found.
I was very excited to have found the Magnitone High Brow. This is a micro-trimmer which removed even those teeny tiny fine hairs. It’s pain free and even has a little LED light so you don’t miss any sneaky hairs.
Magnitone currently have a 15% off your first order offer as well as up to 40% off on their website as part of their Black Friday deals. So, it’s worth checking them out.
Hubby is pleased he’s managed to find me a gift that I’m so pleased with!
