Hanging Out in the Clubhouse with 44 Cats | AD
44 Cats follows The Buffycats – Lampo, Milady, Pilou and Meatball – as they go about their adventure. This group of cats not only get in a variety of sticky situations, but they do it to their own Buffycats band soundtrack with Lampo on lead guitar (and singer), Milady on base, Pilou on the drums and Meatball on the keyboard.
My two found 44 Cats last year and since then have managed to watch the two series available a number of times. It’s come in to its own during lockdown as it’s something they can agree on and when they’re happy, I’m happy!
We were recently sent some items from the 44 Cats range to put to the test and I have 2 little Bears that were absolutely delighted.
Musical Soft Toys
With 4 to collect, these 8 inch soft toys are not only soft and cute. but they also play the 44 Cats theme tune when you press their tummy.
The Bear was absolutely delighted to of been sent Milady, though you can also get your hands on Lampo, Pilou and Meatball from the 44 Cats band.
The 44 Cats musical soft toys retail for £17 but are currently on sale for the bargain price of £5 at Argos!
Club House Playsets – the entertainer
With three Club House Playsets to collect – Lampo, Milady and Pilou’s Place – these are great for any lovers of the show to help bring the magic of 44 Cats alive.
We were sent both Pilou and Lambo’s place which were both utterly adorable. Each set has an moveable element to them: for Pilou it is little fans which actually turn, and for Lambo, a cute little fish which raises and lowers.
Each of the playsets come with a 3 inch figure in an outfit not found in any other set along with a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs (of course!)
The Club House Playsets retail at £17 each and are available now.
Mini Figures
My two LOVE a mini figure so these went down a treat in our house. Each figure is around 3 inches tall and with 8 to collect, there are enough to ensure that the who gang can play.
You can not only choose from Lampo, Milady, Pilou and Meatball but also Cosmo, Boss, Lola and Gas which is a great selection. Each figure comes with an accessory and can fully articulate for more engaging play.
Each mini figure retails for £8 each, though they are currently on sale at Argos for £6.99.
The Verdict
These are a really great toy for fans of the show. The figures are cute and the play sets work great to pull everything together.
44 Cats is only of the only shows that both my children will consistently agree on to watch as it’s fun and cheeky enough for Henry, and cute enough for Darcie and these toys has helped bring a little of that 44 Cats magic into our home.
It has also prompted a marathon re-watch of the series!
DISCLOSURE: we were sent these items for the purposes of this review. As always though, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
