K’Nex: Let’s Get Building | AD
We are massive fans of K’Nex in this house which is why when we got to opportunity to crack the lid on the K’Nex 50 Model Building Set with 417 pieces, I knew a certain little boy that would be itching to get his hands inside this big red tub!
WHAT IS K’NEX?
If you’ve not come across it before, K’Nex is a construction toy which encourages fine motor skills, dexterity and problem solving. Constructed using a series of colour-coded rods and connectors that ‘snap’ together, K’Nex allows children to explore STEM while indulging their imaginations and creativity.
We were sent this K’Nex 417 piece set with inspiration of 50 different model options. It contains plenty of pieces to explore and construct and some really great instructions including cars, planes, dragons and robots. What I particularly love about this set in particular is the brilliant container that it comes in. Other sets we have had in the past have just come in cardboard boxes, but the fact that this comes with storage is a massive bonus.
Just to be clear, this box is not full. 417 is a lot of pieces but not enough to fill a tub of this size. That’s absolutely fine though as this box now holds all of our leftover K’Nex and is also big enough to keep half-constructed items safe until we’re ready to finish them.
LET’S GET BUILDING WITH K’NEX TOYS
We have been massive fans of K’Nex since we first came across it. The fact that most of the components are constructed flat before then clicking together to make 3D shapes really appeals not only to the boy but also Daddy, as you can see everything coming together in layers.
This set kept them both happy for hours as they followed the detailed instructions to build their car. There were plenty of the 415 pieces left over for some free play too!
WHAT WE THOUGHT ABOUT K’NEX TOYS
As you can tell we are big fans of K’Nex and these construction sets are a great option with both free play options and plenty of models to build following the instructions. The fact that K’Nex works on two levels is one of the things we love most about it, as children can follow the instructions or use their imaginations to build their own creations.
It’s also a toy that has grown with our children. When I look back to our first set a few years ago, and how well the Boy was able to construct it, his dexterity and imagination has grown massively.
K’Nex is available on Amazon now and is a brilliant option for birthdays and Christmas, with a wide range of options to suit.
