SpongeBob SquarePants™: The Patrick Star Game | Nintendo Switch
AD | review – whoooooo……lives in a pineapple under the sea?! It’s time to head back to Bikini Bottom as SpongeBob SquarePants™: The Patrick Star Game is officially available today. Perfect timing considering the show recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. Can you believe it?!
The Boy was SO EXCITED to be able to take a little sneak peek this week.
This is what he thought.
THE PREMISE OF THE GAME
Patrick is the star of the show as he takes on a series of missions set by all his friends including SpongeBob, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, Sandy and Plankton. All the adventures are cute and a lot of fun. I particularly liked throwing deck chairs to clear Squidward’s third favourite sun-bathing spot. Throughout the game, fans will additionally be able to unlock multiple costumes and spot hilarious Easter Eggs from the series.
Game players will be able to explore the streets of Bikini Bottom in gorgeous 3D technicolor! Fans will recognise all the best places to hang out including Downtown, Conch Street, Jellyfish Fields, the Fast Food Coliseum, Bikini Bottom University and the Dump.
I love that SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game features the voices of the original cast members which is such as fabulous touch.
WHAT THE BOY THOUGHT
The Boy loved this one especially the fact that he got to make crabbie patties! It was cute and easy to follow. Great for those wet, dark nights after school to keep kids entertained for an hour or two.
It is basically a series of minigames that follows Patrick has he goes about his day exploring Bikini Bottom. We really liked that there doesn’t seem to be a big story flowing through as in the past we didn’t like that once it’s completed, that’s it. It’s done. This minigame format means that you can control what Patrick does and the sheer number of minigames means it’ll keep you going for quite a while. Something that even I enjoyed.
Overall this has been a massive hit in our house and it a lovely fun filled game to entertain the kids as the nights get darker and cold outside. This one is great for kids as well as adults looking for a nostalgic walk down memory lane.
